If you are new to DIY-ing then I've got the easiest project for you to try! This simple, rustic headboard makes a huge impact without requiring a big budget. That's why I've made it the very first in a series I'm calling "$100 DIY Projects". I love how it makes our room feel more finished and more our style. I started with just the boards and after living with that for a little while realized I wanted some more depth and more flexibility for seasonal styling.

The shelf gave me all kinds of options for styling and the sconces were very budget friendly as well. I bought the pair from Amazon, on sale for $39.

They are linked here:

For today, the $100 DIY project includes the headboard and shelf. Below is a short video to guide you through the steps:

It's as easy as that! A gorgeous, rustic bed that won't break the bank and won't take a lot of time to make! If you make The Simple Farmhouse headboard in your home and share it on Instagram please tag me @the.simple.farmhouse and use the hashtag #TSF100dollarDIY. I would love to see!

Till next time...

Meet Laura

Hi!  I'm Laura - a pastor's wife who homeschooled our five children (all of whom are nearly grown now!), and who curated our home as an avid thrifter and DIY-er.  I love to share how I've created a modern European farmhouse aesthetic on a budget, with spaces that feel comfortable, timeless and unfussy.

A house should feel lived-in and well-loved.  And keeping home shouldn't break the bank, because there are wild and wonderful experiences to be shared out there in the world with your loved ones.  In these pages, I am happy to share how we've travelled the world and saved on our journeys, and lived an adventure outside our home as well as in it.  I hope you feel inspired to linger here a while with me.
